A chat assistant and an optional image or music tool you already have access to. Set a spending limit of zero for the first pass.
Why this lesson exists
The “Black Belt With Wi-Fi” posts used an entertaining project to practice context, tool connections and review. You can learn the same pattern without reproducing the original music video.
Do the exercise
Choose something finishable
Pick a fictional cat detective poster, a four-line song or a one-screen game concept. Write who it is for and the one reaction you want. Stop the scope at one artifact.
Write a human seed
Supply three details that are yours: a joke, a character trait and a constraint. Ask for three treatments, choose one, and keep your original details visible.
Pass a brief between tools
Create a short visual or musical brief from the chosen treatment. If using a second tool, copy the brief yourself first. This reveals what information gets lost before you automate anything.
Review one failure
Compare the result to the brief. Correct one issue such as unclear subject or inconsistent costume. Save both attempts and a sentence explaining the change.
A prompt to adapt
Replace the bracketed parts with your own practice details.
Help me make [one tiny artifact] for [audience]. My three personal ingredients are [details]. Give three concepts, then wait for my choice. After that, produce a standalone creation brief with the subject, tone, constraints and three checks. Keep it achievable with tools I already have.
What this looks like
“A detective cat who solves missing-sock cases” is enough for one poster. A ten-episode animated series is a different project. The useful lesson is the handoff from idea to brief to reviewed output.
Check your result
Use evidence from your output. A confident explanation from the AI is not enough.
- One complete artifact exists.
- You can explain the role of each tool.
- You saved an actual correction, not just more variations.
If it isn’t working
If the tool chain is taking longer than the artifact, do the next handoff manually. You are learning the workflow before building infrastructure.
